It was however now developed with houses and unrecognisable. Its kind sad. The wind was driving in our faces as we walked. We walked over the fields using the public footpaths and styles that are so prevalent in England. Halfway across one Geoff slipped. Lucky we are not planning any more children! We found our way to Brambletye House which is the ruins of an early 17th century manor house. Close by is the remains of a moated motte and we were wondering if there had been a previous castle close by.
Looks like a moat to us

The proof of my love for Geoff
We followed the course of the abandoned railway line that had been closed in the sixties that Geoff' s family used to travel on for the first leg of the trip to London. Then onto the pumping station and uphill and down dale ending up full circle back on the railway line. Daffodils and daisies everywhere
We looked for hanging tree where 2 highwaymen were hanged in the early 1800's. It was the same spot where they held up the coach. Not sure but we think this may be itI tried everything to get them to come over so I could pat them but no luck
Yummy bakery for lunch but Geoff was very disappointed as the supposed almond croissant turned out to be just a plain one. In my extreme kindness I shared by apricot tart with him! I read and played with my Ipad while Geoff spent a few more hours exploring Forest Row. All in all Geoff is very pleased with his Mum and Dad's decision to come to Australia all those years ago.
Had tea at The hotel and watched TV.
